Fatal Crash Near Rekhasim Claims One Life, Injures Another

A severe car accident occurred on Sunday on Route 762 near Rekhasim, involving two vehicles. A man in his 30s was killed at the scene, and a woman in her 40s sustained serious injuries.

Emergency medical teams from Magen David Adom (MDA) responded to the collision. They pronounced the 30-year-old man dead and provided initial treatment to the injured woman. She was then transported to Rambam Hospital in Haifa, suffering from abdominal and lower limb trauma.

Avi Boyar, a senior MDA emergency medical technician, described the scene as a "very serious car accident." He detailed that the woman was trapped in one vehicle, while the man in the other sustained severe injuries. Despite resuscitation efforts, the man showed no signs of life and was declared deceased.

This incident follows a weekend marked by multiple fatal road accidents across Israel. Just over a week prior, two people died and six were injured in various road incidents. Earlier, a 45-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run on Route 553 near Moshav Porat; the driver, in her 30s, was apprehended shortly after fleeing the scene. The previous Friday, a motorcyclist died on Route 7 near the Sorek interchange, and a four-year-old boy was critically injured by a vehicle near his home in Pisgat Ze'ev, arriving at the hospital without pulse or respiration.
