Weekend Road Accidents Claim Two Lives, Injure Six Across Israel

Two people were killed and six others were injured in various road accidents across Israel over the past weekend. The fatalities included a 45-year-old man who died in a hit-and-run incident on Highway 553 near Moshav Porat on Saturday. The driver, a woman in her 30s, was apprehended shortly after fleeing the scene and is under investigation.

On Friday, a 48-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an accident on Highway 7 at the Sorek Interchange. In Pisgat Ze'ev, a four-year-old child was critically injured after being hit by a vehicle near his home and was transported to the hospital without vital signs.

Further incidents included a head-on collision between two private vehicles on Highway 675 near the Navot Interchange, and another crash on Highway 3755 near Har Gilo, which resulted in one man sustaining serious injuries and two others moderate to light injuries. Two individuals were trapped in their vehicle and required rescue by firefighters.

Near the port of Caesarea, a man in his 30s suffered serious injuries in a road accident and was evacuated to the hospital with multiple systemic injuries. In Netanya, a motorcyclist was also seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. MDA paramedics described the scene as severe, noting the motorcyclist was unconscious with a severe head injury.
