Ten People Die in Road Accidents Across Israel Within One Week

Since the beginning of the week, ten people have died in a series of road accidents across Israel. The most recent fatality occurred on Friday morning near Beit Shemesh on Road 3855, where a man in his 30s riding a bicycle was hit by a car and died at the scene. Magen David Adom paramedic Beni Rozens reported the cyclist was found unconscious with severe head trauma and no vital signs.

On Thursday night around 11 p.m., a motorcyclist in his 30s was killed in a collision with a car on a mountain road in Eilat. Earlier on Tuesday night, a man in his 50s died in a crash involving a truck and a private vehicle near the Tel Arad junction on Road 80, with two others seriously and moderately injured and hospitalized at Soroka Medical Center.

Also on Tuesday, two women were killed after being struck by a bus while crossing the street in Ashkelon. One woman, about 80 years old, died at the scene, and two others in their 70s were hospitalized; one later died from her injuries. On Monday evening, a 21-year-old man died when an ATV overturned near Neve Erez, while another 21-year-old was lightly injured.

Additional fatalities include a man in his 40s in a head-on collision on Road 42, a man in his 30s hit by a vehicle while working in a garage in Segev Shalom, and a man in his 30s in a crash near the Afik junction on Road 98 that also injured nine others. Some victims died at the scene, others after hospitalization.

ZAKA Operations Deputy Director Chaim Wingarten emphasized the ongoing severity of road fatalities in Israel, urging all road users to exercise extreme caution, especially during the busy "bein hazmanim" period and summer vacation when traffic is heavy and many families travel.
