Two Men Die in Separate Road Accidents in Jerusalem and Negev, Two Children Severely Injured in Ashdod ATV Crash

On August 7, 2026, two men in their 30s died in separate road accidents in Israel, one in Jerusalem and another in the Negev, while two children were seriously injured in an ATV rollover near Ashdod. In Jerusalem, a man around 30 years old was fatally run over in a self-caused accident on Adoniyahu HaKohen Street. Preliminary police investigations indicate the vehicle’s safety system had been disabled, causing the car to continue moving without detecting the absence of a driver. The car’s seat belts were fastened, which contributed to the system’s failure to stop the vehicle. Emergency Medical Services (MDA) found the man unconscious and without vital signs, and despite resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead at Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital.

Hours later, a 35-year-old man died in a severe crash on Road 316 near Afikim in northern Negev. The overturned vehicle trapped the driver, who suffered critical injuries. Three other men aged 27, 30, and 37 were moderately injured and taken to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba with multiple trauma. Paramedics described the accident as very serious, involving two overturned vehicles.

In a separate incident near the northern beach of Ashdod, two children aged 4 and 6 were critically injured, and a 36-year-old man was moderately hurt in an ATV rollover. The children were treated on-site and transported to Assuta Hospital. Paramedics reported one child was unconscious at the scene. These incidents highlight ongoing road safety challenges in Israel.
