Missing Diver Found Dead After Three-Day Search Off Haifa Coast
The body of a 22-year-old Haifa resident, who went missing three days ago while free diving off the Students' Beach in Haifa, was recovered on Saturday. The diver entered the water on Thursday afternoon without scuba gear, accompanied by a family member who remained on a kayak. When the diver failed to resurface for an extended period, rescue forces were alerted.
The extensive search operation involved drones, a police helicopter, boats, jet skis, horses, and jeeps. Efforts focused on continuous aerial and ground searches along the coastline and in the water, conducted day and night.
This incident follows a similar tragedy in late August, where a seven-year-old boy drowned in the lake at Park Darom in Tel Aviv. The child had entered the lake with his brother and disappeared. He was eventually found and pulled from the water after a prolonged search, but despite resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead at Ichilov Hospital.
