Soldier and Two Civilians Arrested in Military Weapons Trafficking Probe

Military Police are investigating a case involving the alleged trafficking of military weapons, leading to the arrest of a soldier and two civilians. The soldier serves at a military base in northern Israel. The arrests were made as part of an investigation led by the Coastal District's Central Unit, in cooperation with the Military Police's Northern Central Unit.

All three suspects were taken in for questioning. Following the investigation's needs and findings, the two civilians appeared before the Haifa Magistrate's Court on Thursday to request an extension of their detention. The soldier's arrest was extended by the Military Court until next Wednesday for investigative purposes.

Upon completion of the investigation, the findings will be transferred to the State Attorney's Office for review. The police stated that they and the Military Police will continue to act decisively and collaboratively against the trafficking and diversion of military weapons to unauthorized individuals, citing the significant danger this poses to public safety and the potential for use in serious criminal offenses.
