Soldier and Two Civilians Arrested in Military Weapons Trafficking Bust
Israeli authorities have arrested a soldier and two civilians on suspicion of trafficking military weapons. The investigation is being conducted jointly by the coastal district's Central Unit and the Northern Unit of the Military Police Investigator.
Two of the suspects, identified as civilians, were brought before the Haifa Magistrate's Court to request an extension of their detention. The soldier, who serves at a military base in northern Israel, appeared before a military court, where his arrest was extended until next Wednesday to allow for further investigation.
Authorities stated that upon completion of the investigation, the findings will be transferred to the prosecution for review. The Israel Police and the Military Police Investigator emphasized their continued commitment to combating the trafficking and illicit diversion of military weaponry into unauthorized hands.
