Man Arrested for Tampering with Baby Food with Anesthetics

Police have concluded their investigation into the case of anesthetic substances being inserted into baby fruit purees. Yan Shamla, a 41-year-old resident of Be'er Sheva, was arrested in connection with the affair, and a statement of intent to indict is expected to be filed against him soon. New security camera footage released by the police shows Shamla in a supermarket shortly before he allegedly placed the purees, into which anesthetic substances had been introduced, on the shelves. Jerusalem police investigators completed a complex investigation, during which they reviewed hundreds of hours of security camera footage. After the suspect was identified, he was arrested at his home, and the investigation against him continued until sufficient evidence was gathered. With the completion of the investigation, the case file has been transferred to the prosecution, in preparation for filing an indictment against Shamla.
