New Polls Show Far-Right Candidate Winter Crossing Threshold, Bloc Balance Tight
One day after the deadline for submitting electoral slates, new polls indicate that far-right candidate Itamar Ben-Gvir's "Otzma Yehudit" party is projected to surpass the electoral threshold, with three surveys showing it garnering 4 seats. National Union-Yisrael Beiteinu leader Bezalel Smotrich's party is predicted to win 6 seats in most polls.
The surveys also reveal a near-even split between the right-wing and left-wing blocs. Channel 13 and Kan 11 polls show the blocs tied, while a Channel 14 poll indicates a significant advantage for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party and its allies.
The results come after the final lists of candidates for the upcoming Knesset elections were submitted on Thursday. The electoral threshold in Israel is 3.25% of the national vote, equivalent to approximately four seats in the 120-member Knesset.
