Settlement Leaders Urge Netanyahu to Keep Israel Land Authority Chief

Heads of local and regional councils in Judea and Samaria have sent an urgent letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanding he prevent the dismissal of Yehuda Eliyahu, the director of the Israel Land Authority (ILA). They argue that removing Eliyahu at this time, when Israel faces significant reconstruction and development challenges, would severely harm ongoing efforts and unjustly delay vital national projects.

The council leaders emphasized that the stability of the ILA under Eliyahu's professional leadership is a paramount national interest. The letter praised Eliyahu's performance, highlighting his value-based and Zionist leadership, the organizational changes he implemented at the ILA, his efficiency, and his responsiveness to strategic needs on the ground.

Furthermore, the officials stated that replacing senior management during an election period would be detrimental to Israel and local government. They concluded their appeal by calling for immediate political intervention to ensure Eliyahu remains in his position and continues to guide the ILA toward national objectives.
