National Insurance Institute Adjusts Payment Schedules for September Holidays
Israel's National Insurance Institute, known as Bituah Leumi, has announced significant adjustments to its payment schedules for September 2026 due to the upcoming Jewish holidays. Payments for unemployment benefits and subsistence allowances for September were advanced and disbursed on Monday, September 8, 2026, ahead of Rosh Hashanah.
Further changes affect long-term benefits, including pensions, survivor benefits, work injury allowances, alimony, disability and mobility support, and payments to prisoners of Zion. These will be paid on September 22, 2026, in advance of Sukkot.
Separately, self-employed individuals and employers face a strict deadline of September 15, 2026, for submitting reports and paying insurance contributions.
Child benefits are scheduled for deposit on September 20, 2026, just before Yom Kippur.
Bituah Leumi also noted that average benefit payments have increased by up to 2.64% since the beginning of 2026 due to consumer price indexation, reaching approximately 5,280 shekels across all categories.
