National Insurance Advances September Payouts Ahead of Holidays
Israel's National Insurance Institute announced an early payout of several key benefits for September, a move necessitated by the upcoming Jewish holidays. Payments for unemployment benefits and income support will be disbursed on September 8, 2026, ahead of Rosh Hashanah. Additionally, long-term benefits, including those for the elderly, survivors, work-related disabilities, alimony, disability, mobility, long-term care, and prisoners of Zion, will be paid out on September 22, 2026, before the Sukkot holiday.
Other scheduled payments include child benefits, which are set to be deposited on September 20, 2026, the eve of Yom Kippur. The deadline for self-employed individuals and employers to report and pay insurance contributions is September 15.
These adjustments come as average benefit payments have increased by up to 2.64% since the beginning of 2026, attributed to rising consumer price index. The current average payment across all benefit types stands at approximately 5,280 shekels.
