National Insurance Advances Payments Ahead of Jewish High Holidays

The National Insurance Institute announced it will advance payment dates for several benefits in September in anticipation of the Tishrei holidays. Ahead of Rosh Hashanah, unemployment and income support benefits will be paid early, on September 8, 2026. Similarly, long-term benefits will be advanced before Sukkot, with payments scheduled for September 22, 2026. These include benefits for the elderly, survivors, work injury victims, alimony, disability, mobility, nursing care, and prisoners of Zion.

The early payments are intended to allow recipients to access their funds before the holidays commence, rather than waiting for the regular payment schedule. Earlier in 2026, benefit amounts were also updated. Benefits linked to the average wage, such as general disability, special services, and child disability grants, saw a 3.4 percent increase, reflecting the rise in the average wage used for calculations.
