Israel's National Insurance to Advance Benefit Payments Due to Holidays
Israel's National Insurance Institute (Bituah Leumi) will advance the payment of several benefits and allowances in September 2026 due to the upcoming Jewish autumn holidays. Payments for unemployment and income support for September will be disbursed on September 8, 2026, ahead of the Rosh Hashanah holiday. Additionally, a group of long-term benefits will be paid early on September 22, 2026, before the Sukkot holiday. These include benefits for the elderly, survivors, work accident victims, alimony, disability, mobility, care, and prisoners of Zion.
Bituah Leumi also reminded recipients of other important September dates. Self-employed individuals and employers must submit reports and pay insurance contributions by September 15. Child allowances are scheduled to be paid on September 20, before Yom Kippur.
The report also noted that the average benefit amount has increased by up to 2.64% since the beginning of 2026 due to the rise in the consumer price index. The current average benefit payment across all categories is approximately 5,280 shekels.
