Israel's National Insurance Institute Advances September Payouts for Holidays
Israel's National Insurance Institute is advancing several benefit payments in September due to the upcoming Jewish holidays. Unemployment and income support benefits will be paid early on September 8, 2026, ahead of Rosh Hashanah. Additionally, long-term benefits, including those for seniors, survivors, work injury victims, alimony, disability, mobility, long-term care, and prisoners of Zion, will be disbursed on September 22, 2026, before Sukkot.
The deadline for self-employed individuals and employers to report and pay insurance contributions is September 15. Child benefits are scheduled to be deposited on September 20, the eve of Yom Kippur.
These payment adjustments are occurring as average benefit amounts have increased by up to 2.64% since the beginning of 2026, attributed to rising consumer prices. The average payment across all benefit types now stands at approximately 5,280 shekels.
