Israel's National Insurance Institute Advances Benefit Payments Due to Holidays

Israel's National Insurance Institute (Bituah Leumi) is advancing benefit payments for several categories of recipients in September due to the upcoming Jewish holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Sukkot. Payments originally scheduled for September 14 will now be disbursed on September 8, six days earlier than usual. This early disbursement applies to unemployment benefits and subsistence allowances.

Additionally, long-term benefits, typically paid on the 28th of each month, will be issued on September 22, also six days ahead of schedule. This includes pensions for old age and survivors, disability benefits, benefits for children with disabilities, special services, and mobility assistance. Payments for work accident victims, alimony, rehabilitation and care allowances, and payments to prisoners of Zion will also be advanced.

Furthermore, Bituah Leumi is resuming in-person services at its branches nationwide starting September 3, following a two-week closure for public appointments from August 19 to September 2. The branch in Bnei Brak was an exception and remained open during this period. While branches were closed for in-person visits, citizens could still access services online, through personal portals, chat, and phone lines. Normal operating hours are now restored, though individuals are advised to confirm specific branch hours.
