National Insurance Branches Reopen, Benefit Payments Advanced for Holidays

National Insurance Institute branches are set to reopen to the public on Tuesday, August 29th, following a two-week closure that began on August 19th. During this period, in-person services were suspended, with the exception of the Bnei Brak branch. While the branches were closed for face-to-face interactions, the Institute continued to offer services through its website, personal online portal, live chat, and national call center.

In addition to resuming public services, the National Insurance Institute announced that several benefit payments will be advanced in September to accommodate the upcoming Jewish holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Sukkot. Unemployment and income support benefits for September will be disbursed on September 8th instead of the original date of September 14th, a six-day advance. Long-term benefits, including those for the elderly, survivors, disability, and work accident victims, will be paid on September 22nd, six days earlier than the usual September 28th.

The advance payment applies to a range of benefits, including old-age pensions, survivor benefits, disability pensions, disabled child benefits, special services, mobility services, work injury benefits, alimony, rehabilitation, long-term care, and prisoners of Zion. The Institute advises the public to check the opening hours for each specific branch on its website.
