Israel's National Insurance Advances September Benefit Payments Ahead of Rosh Hashanah

Israel's National Insurance Institute announced it will advance several benefit payments in September 2026 to accommodate the upcoming Rosh Hashanah holiday. Unemployment benefits and income support payments will be disbursed on September 8, several days before the holiday begins on September 11. Additionally, long-term benefits such as general disability, senior citizen, survivors, disabled child, special services, mobility, work injury, alimony, rehabilitation, nursing care, and Zionist prisoners allowances will be paid on September 22 instead of the usual September 28 date. The regular child allowance will be paid on September 20, with the reporting and payment deadline to the National Insurance set for September 15.

The National Insurance Institute wished recipients a happy holiday and expressed hope that the early payments would assist with holiday preparations. Meanwhile, August's long-term benefits will be paid on their regular schedule, Friday, August 28. The institute explained that payment advances are typically made before major holidays while carefully avoiding creating large gaps between consecutive payments.
