National Insurance to Automatically Deposit Back-to-School Grants to Eligible Families

The National Insurance Institute of Israel announced that the annual back-to-school grant will be automatically transferred to eligible families' bank accounts on Tuesday, August 11, without requiring them to submit a special application. This payment aims to assist families in managing the increased expenses associated with the start of the school year, such as purchasing school supplies and books.

The grant is designated for single parents, divorced, separated, or widowed parents with children born between January 1, 2009, and December 31, 2020. Additionally, large families with four or more children under 18 born within the same date range are eligible, provided they receive certain benefits like income support, general disability, alimony, or survivor's pension.

The National Insurance Institute emphasized that payments will be made automatically based on existing data in their system, meaning most qualifying families will not need to take any further action to receive the funds. This announcement comes just weeks before the new school year begins, a time when many families face increased financial demands.
