Israel's National Insurance to Distribute 1,204 Shekel Education Grant in August

The National Insurance Institute of Israel is preparing to distribute its annual education grant to assist families with purchasing school supplies and books for the upcoming school year 2026-2027. Each eligible child will receive 1,204 shekels, with payments scheduled to be deposited directly into recipients' bank accounts on August 11, 2026, without requiring active application from most beneficiaries.

Eligibility is based on age and family status. The grant targets children born between January 1, 2009, and December 31, 2020. Exceptions exist for first and twelfth graders outside this age range, who must provide official enrollment confirmation. Eligible families include single-parent households and large families with four or more children receiving National Insurance benefits such as income support, alimony, disability, or survivor allowances.

Most payments will be automatically transferred to the bank accounts linked to regular child allowance payments, eliminating the need for additional forms or requests. However, in special cases such as split National Insurance files or children outside the age criteria requiring enrollment proof, families are advised to visit the National Insurance online portal to verify eligibility or upload necessary documents.
