Israel's Tax Authority Advances Work Grant Payments Ahead of High Holidays
Israel's Tax Authority has announced the early disbursement of the second installment of the Work Grant for the 2025 eligibility year. Originally slated for October 15, the payment will now be sent to eligible recipients on September 9, 2026, over a month earlier than legally mandated. This decision was made to assist the public with holiday preparations and expenses associated with the upcoming High Holidays.
The Work Grant is provided by the Tax Authority to employees and self-employed individuals who meet specific legal criteria. Its purpose is to improve the financial standing of low-wage workers, reduce socioeconomic disparities, and incentivize labor market participation. Applications are submitted online through the Tax Authority's website.
Eligibility for the grant is generally for parents aged 21 and over, or individuals aged 55 and over without children, provided they meet income requirements. Since 2024, an additional grant is available for parents of toddlers up to age three. Furthermore, employed women born after January 1, 1960, who are over 60 and meet the legal criteria, can apply for an advance payment on their 2026 Work Grant.
The Tax Authority also reminded the public that applications for the 2024 Work Grant can still be submitted online until December 31, 2026.
