National Insurance Expands Services for Israelis Abroad, Advances Payments for Holidays

The National Insurance Institute (Bituah Leumi) has announced new services for Israelis residing abroad, allowing them to access various services without returning to Israel. A dedicated international phone line has been established for inquiries and assistance. The institute stated, "We are here even when you are abroad," emphasizing that the service is available to anyone outside Israel needing to contact them.

The international hotline can be reached at +972-8-9369669 and operates Sunday through Thursday, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Services are offered in Hebrew, English, and Russian. Callers can receive general information, personal inquiries, order certificates and forms, and check or pay insurance debt. To use the phone service, individuals need their ID number and a secret code, which can be obtained online beforehand. Those without a code can still receive service by answering identification questions.

However, certain actions cannot be performed via the hotline, including submitting claims or documents, or reporting personal detail changes. For these, the National Insurance Institute directs users to its online services, where documents can be sent directly and claims filed digitally.

In addition to the international services, the National Insurance Institute is advancing payment dates for several benefits in September ahead of the Rosh Hashanah and Sukkot holidays. Unemployment and income support benefits for September will be paid on September 8th, six days earlier than the original date of September 14th. Long-term benefits, including those for the elderly, survivors, disability, and work accident victims, will be paid on September 22nd instead of September 28th, also a six-day advance.
