Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has secured several reserved spots on the Likud party's Knesset list ahead of the filing deadline on Tuesday. Among the notable additions is Yaakov Bardugo, a close confidant and informal political advisor to Netanyahu, who is employed by Channel 14. Bardugo is expected to be placed at the 11th position on the list, a slot reserved by the "New Hope" party led by Gideon Sa'ar.
Bardugo, an attorney, has a history of public advocacy aligned with government positions, often engaging in high-profile disputes with law enforcement, the State Prosecutor's Office, and traditional media outlets. His previous roles include CEO of the Mifal HaPayis (national lottery) and CEO of the Union of Local Authorities in Israel. In addition to Bardugo, Netanyahu has advanced other candidates. These include tech figure Oren Dobronsky, who is slated to become a minister for AI affairs if Likud forms a government. Tali Guili, mother of fallen soldier Rani Guili, will be placed ninth. Other reserved spots include Itzik Bonzel (29th), Brig. Gen. (res.) Amir Avivi (35th), Elisha Medan (15th), and attorney David Peter (16th), who has represented the government in sensitive High Court petitions.
