Netanyahu Plans to Place Prominent Figures on Likud List

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intends to reserve spots on the Likud party list for several prominent figures, including right-wing commentator Yaakov Bardugo, who is associated with Channel 14. This move is part of a merger agreement with the "New Hope" party. Discussions are currently underway regarding the specific placements and final details of these reserved seats, according to a report by Channel 14.

Among the notable individuals Netanyahu has chosen to reserve spots for is Talik Guili, the mother of fallen Border Police officer Sergeant Major Rani Guili, who was posthumously awarded a medal of honor. Rani Guili was killed on October 7th while fighting despite an injury, saving many lives before falling in battle and having his body abducted to Gaza. His body was later returned to Israel as part of Operation "Brave Heart." His mother has since become a public figure, working to commemorate his heroism and legacy.

Also joining the list is Elisha Medan, a reservist fighter and one of the founders of the community of Avigail in Hebron. Medan was critically injured during operational activity in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, in a battle where four of his comrades were killed. He lost both legs due to his injuries and underwent extensive rehabilitation.

Another individual slated for a reserved spot is attorney David Peter, identified with the conservative legal camp. Peter has been prominent in recent years for his criticism of judicial activism and the conduct of the legal counsel to the government, actively engaging in legal matters concerning the Netanyahu government.

Additionally, Brigadier General (Res.) Amir Avivi, founder of the "Bishvistonim" (Security Advocates) movement, is also set to receive a reserved seat. Avivi served in a long series of senior positions in the Israel Defense Forces.
