Likud Party Adds Four Reserved Spots for Prominent Figures
The Likud party announced on Sunday that it has reserved three additional spots on its Knesset list for prominent figures, following the earlier reservation of a spot for Elisha Madan. Madan, who was severely wounded in operational activity in Beit Hanoun and lost both his legs, was given a reserved position.
The three new additions are Talik Guili, the mother of fallen Border Police officer Rani Guili; attorney David Peter; and Brigadier General (res.) Amir Avivi, founder of the "Bithonistim" (Security-Minded) movement.
These reserved spots are typically used to ensure the inclusion of individuals deemed important to the party's platform or public image, often bypassing the standard primary election process. The inclusion of Guili, whose son was killed in the line of duty, and Avivi, a known security advocate, signals a focus on security-related issues within the party's upcoming electoral strategy.
