Netanyahu's Reserved Knesset Seats Approved by Likud

The Likud party's secretariat has approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's reserved spots on the party's list for the upcoming elections. Among the notable names are Talik Guili, mother of hostage Ran Guili, who is placed ninth on the list. Commentator Yaakov Bardugo will be eleventh, and reserve soldier Elisha Medan, who was severely wounded in service, is fifteenth. Lawyer David Peter is sixteenth, and former Knesset member Eli Goldschmidt and bereaved father attorney Itzik Bonzel are also included.

Talik Guili has become a prominent figure since October 7th, following her son Ran's death in combat and subsequent abduction to Gaza. The Likud highlighted Guili's transformation of her personal tragedy into public service, becoming a symbol of faith and determination. Elisha Medan, who sustained serious injuries during reserve duty, is recognized for his resilience and recovery.

Netanyahu's office also noted David Peter's extensive experience in constitutional and public law. Eli Goldschmidt, formerly with the Labor party, reportedly shifted his political views after the October 7th massacre to align with the Likud and national camp.

Yaakov Bardugo, a commentator and presenter considered close to Netanyahu, is also expected to be on the list. Former "Bithonisten" chairman, Brigadier General (res.) Amir Aviv, will not be running. Aviv, who was slated for the 35th spot, declined it to allow Knesset member Avihai Boaron a more realistic position. Netanyahu's office stated that if the next government is formed, Aviv is slated for an external ministerial appointment.
