Health Ministry Warns of Rabid Dogs in Beit Aryeh and Eli Settlements
Israel's Ministry of Health has issued a warning regarding two dogs diagnosed with rabies, one in the settlement of Beit Aryeh and another in the settlement of Eli. The dog in Beit Aryeh is described as a medium-to-large mixed breed, brown with white markings around its neck and snout. Nine individuals who were exposed to this dog have begun preventative treatment.
The second rabid dog, found in Eli, is a medium-to-large Canaan dog, white with brown spots. Two people exposed to this dog have been referred for treatment.
The Ministry is urging anyone who had contact with either dog, or with stray animals in the affected areas between August 22 and September 5, to urgently contact the Ramla District Health Office at 08-9181202 for guidance and potential treatment.
