James Tavernier Joins Maccabi Tel Aviv on Lucrative One-Year Deal

Scottish defender James Tavernier has officially signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv on a one-year contract with an option for an additional season. The move makes him the highest-paid player in the Israeli Premier League, earning 700,000 euros per season. Tavernier joins Maccabi after an "legendary" 11-year tenure with Scottish club Rangers.

The 34-year-old fullback also mentioned receiving positive feedback about the club from former teammate Kenny Miller. "After playing for years at a big club, I know how important fan support is and how much it can boost a team."
