US Ambassador Condemns Land Grabs During West Bank Visit

U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, visited the Palestinian village of Turmus Ayya in the West Bank on Saturday amidst escalating security tensions. During his visit, he met with village residents, many of whom are American citizens, and with relatives of Americans killed by settlers. The visit occurred against a backdrop of heightened violence in the West Bank, marked by several serious incidents.

Following these events, numerous countries condemned Israel. Ambassador Huckabee himself described those involved as "terrorists," stating, "I do not support those who seize the property of others." He elaborated, "The lives of many are being disrupted by those who create immense suffering for them, and invaders seize homes that do not belong to them. This is an act of terrorism."

Huckabee explained that the embassy lacks the authority to investigate these incidents but is working to draw attention to issues requiring correction. He revealed ongoing discussions with Israeli officials on the matter, stating, "I speak daily not only with the government but also with Israeli citizens, most of whom are disgusted by the behavior of this terrorist group."

He added that the United States can express its will and exert pressure to resolve these problems. "Our message is clear: a crime is a crime, and an act of terrorism is an act of terrorism. Those who commit them must expect severe consequences," Huckabee concluded.
