Barilla Buys Israeli Actress Gal Gadot's Macaroni Brand Goodles
Italian pasta giant Barilla has announced its acquisition of the American macaroni and cheese brand Goodles, co-founded by Israeli actress Gal Gadot. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, and it remains unclear whether Gadot will continue her involvement with the brand following the acquisition.
Gadot, along with her husband Yaron Varsano, launched Goodles in October 2020, aiming to offer a healthier alternative to traditional macaroni and cheese products in the U.S. market. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
Upon completion, Goodles will continue to operate as an independent brand, maintaining its headquarters in Santa Cruz, California. The company's CEO and co-founder, Jen Zessin, will remain in her role, leading a team of 73 employees.
Guido Barilla, Chairman of the Barilla Group, expressed the company's long-standing interest in Goodles, citing admiration for the brand's strength, product quality, and growth trajectory.
