Gal Gadot's Mac and Cheese Brand Goodles Acquired by Pasta Giant Barilla

The global food industry is seeing another major deal, this time with a prominent Israeli connection. Goodles, a mac and cheese brand co-founded by Israeli actress and model Gal Gadot, has agreed to be acquired by Barilla Group, the world's largest pasta company. The financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, and the deal awaits regulatory approval.

Goodles was launched in October 2020 by Gadot, known for her role as Wonder Woman, and her husband Jaron Varsano. The brand was conceived with the idea of making the comfort food mac and cheese healthier while maintaining its delicious taste, positioning itself as a nutritious alternative to existing market products.

Barilla Group stated that both companies share common values, including a passion for food and a commitment to quality and taste. Following the acquisition, Goodles will maintain its headquarters in Santa Cruz, California, and continue to operate as a distinct brand. The company's CEO, Jen Zazula, will remain in her position, leading the team of 73 employees.

Guido Barilla, Chairman of the Barilla Group, expressed that the company had been observing Goodles for some time and was impressed by its brand strength, product quality, and growth trajectory. He noted that the management team's vision and cohesion were key factors in the decision. Zazula highlighted that over 90% of the U.S. population has yet to try Goodles, indicating significant room for growth. She believes Barilla is the ideal partner to help the brand expand globally while preserving its independence and product quality.
