Ben-Gvir Urges Likud to Release Tali Gottlieb or Face List Changes

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has issued an ultimatum to the Likud party and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, demanding they "release" Knesset Member Tali Gottlieb by the end of Wednesday, or he will announce candidate placements on his party's list. This statement follows reports of advanced negotiations between Ben-Gvir's Otzma Yehudit party and Gottlieb.

Ben-Gvir is reportedly willing to add Gottlieb to his party's ranks, but only if she officially leaves or resigns from the Likud. Gottlieb, currently ranked 20th on the Likud list, stated on Wednesday that she would "very much welcome a concrete, good offer from Otzma Yehudit" and would consider it seriously. She acknowledged that the Prime Minister is not obligated to appoint her to a ministerial position, such as Justice Minister, or chair an important committee.

Gottlieb expressed her duty to her voters to carefully consider any concrete offer that would allow her to utilize her abilities. The reports indicate that Ben-Gvir's move is a significant step in his efforts to recruit Gottlieb, with the deadline set for Wednesday.
