Gabi Kanyukovsky Returns to Maccabi Tel Aviv on Four-Year Deal
Maccabi Tel Aviv announced on Monday evening that they have reached an agreement with Ferencváros for the transfer of Gabi Kanyukovsky, who has signed a four-year contract and will wear jersey number 16. Kanyukovsky, who recently turned 29, returns to the Israeli club after one season in Hungary.
During his previous tenure with Maccabi Tel Aviv, Kanyukovsky made 194 appearances across all competitions, scoring 27 goals and providing 46 assists. With the team, he won two league championships, two Toto Cups, and the Super Cup. He also participated in European campaigns, including the Europa League and Conference League, reaching the knockout stages.
In his single season with Ferencváros, Kanyukovsky won the Hungarian Cup, played in the Europa League, and made 56 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals. He also featured in 21 European matches for the Hungarian club.
Kanyukovsky, a product of Maccabi Tel Aviv's youth academy, first returned to the senior team in the summer of 2021 and quickly became a key player. His return is expected to strengthen the midfield for coach Robbie Keane's squad.
