Maccabi Tel Aviv Negotiates to Re-Sign Gabi Kanikovski from Ferencváros

Maccabi Tel Aviv is actively negotiating to bring back midfielder Gabi Kanikovski after just one season with Hungarian club Ferencváros. Kanikovski, who joined Ferencváros on a free transfer after his contract with Maccabi expired, is currently under contract with the Hungarian team until 2028 and earns approximately 550,000 euros per season. According to sources close to the deal, Ferencváros is demanding around one million euros as a transfer fee for Kanikovski's return to Maccabi.

Kanikovski previously won two championships with Maccabi Tel Aviv and has been a regular starter at Ferencváros, including appearances in all matches during the UEFA Europa League qualifiers. He recently explained in an interview that his move abroad was influenced by his close connection to former Ferencváros player and Israeli coach Robbie Keane, who left the Hungarian club this summer. Ferencváros has secured European competition this season and will face Trabzonspor, featuring Mohamed Salah, in the playoff round. Negotiations between the clubs are ongoing, and Kanikovski's return to Maccabi Tel Aviv could be finalized soon.
