A source within the Hungarian club confirmed on Monday that discussions are underway with Maccabi Tel Aviv regarding Kanyukovsky's sale. Kanyukovsky has been absent from Ferencváros's squad for their last two matches, including a league game and a Europa League playoff against Trabzonspor.

His recent benching is seen as a signal to the player, who is reportedly open to returning to Israel provided his contract terms are met. Ferencváros initially sought around 2.5 million euros for Kanyukovsky but is now discussing a significantly lower figure. Despite the reduced valuation, club officials have confirmed the ongoing negotiations.

Maccabi Tel Aviv is not under immediate pressure to finalize the deal, as their failure to qualify for the Conference League means their transfer deadline is September 16, the closing of the Israeli Premier League transfer window, rather than this week.
