Listeria Bacteria Found in Gad Dairy Camembert; Product Recalled
Gad Dairy has initiated a recall of its "Camembert ripe with white mold 33% fat" cheese, packaged in 130-gram containers. The recall was prompted after the French manufacturer, SASO Fromageries Comtoises, discovered Listeria monocytogenes bacteria in the product during its own testing.
The affected product has an expiration date of September 7, 2026, batch number BFBN, and barcode 7290019635208. Gad Dairy is coordinating with the Ministry of Health's Food Service to remove the recalled cheese from distribution channels.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious illness, particularly in individuals with weakened immune systems, the elderly, and pregnant women, potentially leading to miscarriages. Consumers who have purchased the affected cheese are advised to refrain from consuming it. Gad Dairy has established a customer service hotline for inquiries and assistance.
