Eyal Berkovic questioned by police after confrontation with activist Mordechai David
Former footballer Eyal Berkovic was questioned under caution on Monday at the Glilot police station over his clash with right-wing activist Mordechai David, according to reporter Li Ayish of i24NEWS. The questioning stems from a video showing Berkovic driving his car while David sat on the hood in an attempt to stop him.
Last week, police already questioned David over the same incident and issued him a 15-day restraining order from Berkovic. Police said investigators from the Glilot station had summoned two people after footage spread on social media at the start of the week, raising suspicion of blocking a vehicle and reckless driving that endangered lives.
In a statement last week, police said one of the suspects, a man in his 20s from Bnei Brak, was questioned under caution on suspicion of privacy violations, public nuisance, and disorderly conduct in a public place. He was then released under restrictive conditions, and the investigation continued. Berkovic has now become the next subject of that probe.
