Eyal Berkovic Questioned by Police After Clash With Right-Wing Activist
Former footballer Eyal Berkovic was questioned under caution on Monday at Glilot police station over an incident involving right-wing activist Mordechai David, according to reporter Li Ayash of i24NEWS. The case centers on a video showing Berkovic driving while David sits on the car’s hood in an apparent attempt to stop him.
Last week, David was also questioned over the same incident and was ordered to stay away from Berkovic for 15 days. Police said at the time that investigators from Glilot station had summoned two people after footage circulated on social media early in the week, raising suspicion of blocking a vehicle and dangerous driving that endangered lives.
In the police statement, one of the suspects, a man from Bnei Brak in his 20s, was questioned under caution on suspicion of privacy violations, public nuisance, and disorderly conduct in a public place. He was released that day under restrictive conditions, and the investigation continued. Berkovic has now reached his own stage of questioning.
