IDF Launches Manhunt After Stabbing Attack Near Jordan Valley Village

A 24-year-old Haredi man from Beitar Illit was moderately wounded in a stabbing attack near the village of Auja in the Jordan Valley on Sunday morning. The assailant fled the scene, prompting an extensive IDF manhunt involving elite units such as Duvdevan and air force helicopters. The victim sustained a penetrating wound to his upper body and was fully conscious during evacuation to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. Medical teams from Magen David Adom and the IDF provided emergency care at the scene before transporting him by ambulance.

Video footage from the attack shows the assailant waiting on the side before suddenly attacking and stabbing the young man. The IDF has imposed roadblocks around Auja and nearby areas while maintaining communication with local residents and security forces. Police from the Judea and Samaria district are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

This stabbing adds to a recent surge of similar attacks in the region. Just days ago, an assailant attempting to stab an IDF soldier in Jenin was neutralized on the spot. Last week, a stabbing in Beit Shemesh resulted in the death of a 7-year-old boy and injury to his 4-year-old cousin, who was recently discharged after complex surgery and intensive care.

The IDF continues its search for the attacker with forces from the Jordan Valley Brigade and special units actively involved in the operation.
