Four New Suspects in Eldar Dayan Murder Case Not Charged with Murder
A significant development occurred in the investigation of Eldar Dayan's murder, as four young men recently arrested are not suspected of the murder itself. The four suspects, all in their twenties from Petah Tikva, were detained on suspicion of causing bodily harm and other offenses but have been cleared of murder charges. Their remand was extended by a magistrate's court until Thursday.
Defense attorneys Yaron Forer and Shay Roda, representing two of the detainees, stated that their clients are not connected to Dayan's death and have provided detailed accounts to the police. They expressed confidence that their clients will be released soon. The suspects gave their versions of events during police questioning, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Police investigators revealed they have collected around 10,000 video files related to the case and have not yet reviewed all of them. The suspects were arrested following a covert investigation. One suspect denied involvement in the murder, saying he met Dayan and was asked to help find his friends but had no idea why he was linked to the killing.
Previously, two of Dayan's close friends, Maxim Braverman and Omri Peretz, were arrested and are scheduled to appear before a judge on Wednesday. The new findings regarding the four suspects could influence the legal proceedings concerning Braverman and Peretz. Authorities believe Dayan was kicked in the head during a fight, and they are investigating whether this injury caused his death.
