Israeli Police Arrest Two More Suspects in Eldar Dayan Death Investigation

Israeli police investigating the death of Eldar Dayan have arrested two additional suspects suspected of involvement in the fight that preceded his disappearance and death. These arrests follow two others made the previous evening, bringing the total number of suspects in custody to six. Four suspects are being questioned for their role in the initial altercation, while two others, including Dayan's friends Omri Peretz and Maxim Barberman, remain detained on suspicion of involvement in his death.

The investigation centers on a confrontation between Dayan and his friends and another group of youths near the Hod Hasharon-Kfar Saba area. According to Peretz and Barberman, Dayan was beaten during the fight, and they were also attacked. After the fight, the three got into a car and attempted to leave the scene. One member of the opposing group reportedly clung to the car window, leading Peretz and Barberman to believe they might have hit him and feared police pursuit.

The trio then went to a gas station at the Yarkon junction, where Peretz bought a bottle of water for Dayan. Security footage from the station shows Dayan alive and with his friends after the fight, a key piece of evidence that has focused the murder suspicion primarily on Peretz and Barberman rather than the other youths involved in the initial altercation. The four suspects arrested this morning will be brought to court for detention extension requests as the investigation continues.
