Two Suspects Re-Arrested in Eldar Dayan Death Investigation on Serious Assault Charges

Two individuals previously released in connection with the death of Eldar Dayan have been re-arrested and taken in for questioning on suspicion of serious assault. This development follows the discovery of Dayan's body in an open area near the Yarkon interchange, after weeks of investigation since his disappearance. Initially, two of Dayan's friends, Maxim Barberman and Omri David Peretz, were detained on suspicion of threatening Dayan's life, with their detention extended by the Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court. The investigation intensified after Dayan's abandoned car was found near the location where his body was later discovered, about 200 meters away. The renewed arrests indicate a shift in the investigation, though authorities have not disclosed the new evidence or the specific allegations against each suspect. Eldar Dayan, a young man from Dimona, was declared missing after contact was lost, prompting extensive searches and scrutiny of those last seen with him.
