Veteran Israeli Broadcaster Oren Nahari Dies at 70 After 40 Years in Public Radio and TV

Oren Nahari, a respected Israeli journalist, editor, and broadcaster, passed away on Thursday at the age of 70 after battling ALS. Nahari dedicated over four decades to public broadcasting, becoming a familiar voice covering international events for the Israeli public. His work spanned radio and television, where he was known for insightful coverage and in-depth analysis.

Among Nahari's notable projects was his final podcast series, "The American Experiment," co-hosted with Eran Sikurel. This 15-episode series traced 250 years of American history, from the arrival of the first settlers to the Trump era, highlighting pivotal events that shaped the United States. Another significant work was the podcast "The 20th Century: A Year Per Hour," which examined each year of the 20th century in detail, starting from 1901 until Nahari's death in 1961.

Nahari also hosted the weekly radio program "Saturday with Oren Nahari" on Kan News Radio Network B, where he discussed current public issues with leading researchers and experts. The final episode aired on August 8, just five days before his passing.
