Funeral Procession Begins in Jerusalem for 4-Year-Old Shalom Seginer After Tragic Drowning in Mexico

The coffin of four-year-old Shalom Seginer, grandson of prominent Breslov rabbi Rabbi Shalom Arush, arrived in Israel on Tuesday morning ahead of his funeral. Shalom tragically drowned in a hotel pool during a family vacation in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.

Following the incident, the international unit of ZAKA, in close cooperation with the Israeli Foreign Ministry, worked swiftly to assist the family and expedite the return of Shalom’s body to Israel. After overcoming legal and bureaucratic hurdles in Mexico, including avoiding an autopsy, the body was released for burial and flown to Israel.

The funeral procession will begin at 11:30 a.m. from the "Chut Shel Chesed" institutions on Shmuel Hanavi Street 13 in Jerusalem and proceed to the Mount of Olives cemetery. ZAKA volunteers Yossi Chaim Hozi and Roy Solomon received the coffin at Ben Gurion Airport and are accompanying the family during this difficult time.

Rabbi Shalom Arush, head of the "Chut Shel Chesed" institutions and a leading Breslov rabbi, personally came to Israel to accompany his grandson on his final journey. The community and family are mourning the loss of the young boy, with live coverage of the funeral being provided by Kikar HaShabbat.
