Manor Solomon Set to Compete for Left Wing Spot at West Ham After Summer Transfer

Israeli footballer Manor Solomon is preparing for a significant transition as he joins West Ham United, aiming to help the club return to the Premier League after just one season. The transfer deal was confirmed recently, and Solomon will face competition for the left-wing position in the team.

West Ham has retained most of its squad, including star Jarrod Bowen, despite rumors of his potential departure. Manager Nuno Espírito Santo, who joined early last season and could not prevent the club's relegation, remains at the helm with experience to guide the team back to top-flight football.

Tactically, West Ham has shifted from formations featuring three center-backs or a 4-2-3-1 setup to a 4-4-2 in recent preseason matches, including a 3-1 League Cup win over Portsmouth. Pablo and Tati Castaños have been deployed as forwards, with Bowen on the left wing.

Solomon is expected to replace Krystian Szymański, who left for the Saudi league after a strong World Cup performance with the Netherlands. However, competition remains from Venezuelan player Kévin Madrigal, capable of playing centrally or on the left wing, though he is currently injured. Mohamed Kante has also filled in on the left during the League Cup.

Solomon’s position on the left wing appears secure for now, where he will collaborate with left-back Alhaji Diouf, noted for his attacking defensive style last season. Whether this combination will succeed remains to be seen as the new Premier League season approaches.
