Maccabi Tel Aviv and Levante Make Progress on Roy Revivo Transfer Amid Remaining Obstacles

On Wednesday, some progress was made in the transfer negotiations of left-back Roy Revivo between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Spanish club Levante. The deal is expected to be around 3.3 million euros, payable in three installments, but key issues remain unresolved. One major sticking point is the payment of Revivo's 15 percent commission from the transfer fee. Maccabi Tel Aviv insists that Levante should pay this amount directly to Revivo, while Levante argues that the Israeli club should cover it from the funds they receive. Additionally, there is no agreement yet on the percentage of any future resale rights that Maccabi Tel Aviv would retain.

Due to these unresolved matters, Revivo's family remains skeptical about the deal's completion. Reflecting the uncertainty, Revivo did not travel with Maccabi Tel Aviv to Batumi for their Europa League third qualifying round match against CSKA Sofia. Both Revivo and coach Kenny Miller agreed it was better for him not to play while under the psychological strain caused by the transfer delays. Revivo is now hoping for a strong performance from Shahar Rozen, who is playing left-back in his absence, as this could help expedite his sale.
