Maccabi Tel Aviv's Roy Revivo Transfer to Elche Unlikely to Resume, Spanish Media Say

The proposed transfer of Israeli left-back Roy Revivo from Maccabi Tel Aviv to Spanish club Elche has effectively stalled and is unlikely to be revived, according to Spanish reports. Throughout the transfer window, Elche explored several options for their left flank, with Revivo considered the closest candidate. An offer nearing 2 million euros was made but deemed insufficient by Maccabi Tel Aviv, and negotiations have not reopened since. Despite interest from Elche's coach Martin Anselmi, it appears improbable that Revivo will compete for the left-back position against Jerman Valera in Elche's starting lineup.

Revivo himself expressed his ambition to play abroad but emphasized his current commitment to Maccabi Tel Aviv, stating before the Israeli Premier League season opener against Hapoel Jerusalem, "As long as I am here, I feel committed and will do everything for my team and fans. I love you, Yalla Maccabi."

Maccabi Tel Aviv CEO Barney Ardov clarified the club's stance in a recent press conference, saying they are open to selling players if the offer meets their valuation. He stressed that the club develops players primarily to win titles, not just to sell, and that they expect respectful negotiations with formal written offers rather than informal inquiries. Ardov noted that managing negotiations is difficult without a clear counterpart, underscoring the club's position to wait for the right proposal before considering a sale.
