Elche Offers Improved Bid for Roy Revivo as Maccabi Tel Aviv Prepares to Negotiate

After initially denying receiving any offer from Spanish club Elche for Roy Revivo, Maccabi Tel Aviv's CEO Jack Englidis confirmed that a proposal did arrive through the player's agent. Agent Pali Ramadani, a leading figure in Spain, revealed he spoke directly with Englidis and stated Elche is willing to pay 3 million euros plus 5 percent of any future transfer fee. However, Maccabi Tel Aviv has set three major conditions: Revivo must forgo 450,000 euros owed to him, the club demands 20 percent of any future sale, and insists Elche cover the agent's commission. Ramadani is now urging Elche to submit an improved offer to initiate official negotiations before the transfer window closes in about two weeks. Elche is set to open their season against Deportivo La Coruña on Monday at 22:00.

Meanwhile, Maccabi Tel Aviv is also managing its foreign player roster. Forward Said Abu Freha has completed his move to Colorado Rapids for 5 million dollars and will travel to the US once the MLS officially approves the transfer. Although representatives of Israel Dafa from Hapoel Jerusalem claimed Maccabi considered signing him, the club denied he is a candidate. Sporting director Steven Vanahern said the club plans to add two new players before the transfer window closes, with Serbian defender Nikola Maras and Belgian midfielder Taabu Batten mentioned as potential signings. To accommodate new arrivals, Maccabi is looking to reduce foreign players, with Henry Edu possibly going on loan to Portugal's second division club Tondela, and efforts underway to loan out Kevin Andrade and Leon Nicolaescu as well.
