Maccabi Tel Aviv Open to Selling Roy Revivo If Right Offer Arrives, CEO Says

Maccabi Tel Aviv football club, recently eliminated from the UEFA Europa League qualifiers and now competing in the Toto Cup, held a press conference ahead of their match against Maccabi Netanya. The event featured the club's new sporting director Steven Vanharan and CEO Jack Englidis, who outlined the club's ambitions and current situation.

Englidis emphasized the club's goal to be Israel's top team, competing for all possible titles and striving for European competitiveness. He acknowledged the disappointment of the Europa League exit but stressed the need to learn and move forward. Englidis highlighted ongoing behind-the-scenes efforts to improve the club and expressed confidence that solutions will be found soon.

Regarding midfielder Roy Revivo, Englidis stated that the club respects him and his family and recognizes his potential. Revivo is under contract, and the club is open to selling him if a suitable offer is received and terms are agreed upon. Englidis noted that Maccabi Tel Aviv is not focused on developing players solely for sale but to win titles, and they expect to be respected in negotiations. He also mentioned that serious offers have been formal and written, not just verbal inquiries, which complicates negotiations.

Sporting director Vanharan, who joined two months ago, praised the players' quality and progress despite recent setbacks, including the loss to CSKA Sofia. He stressed a step-by-step approach without rushing, aiming to meet season goals. Vanharan acknowledged the need to strengthen the squad but cautioned against wholesale changes, noting that new signings like Sokler and Dan Glazer have already been integrated. The club plans to add two more players and will replace any departures appropriately.

The club remains focused on rebuilding and competing strongly in domestic and European competitions, balancing player development, transfers, and team performance.
