Maccabi Tel Aviv CEO Says Club Will Sell Roy Revivo If Right Offer Arrives

Following Maccabi Tel Aviv's recent elimination from the Europa League and drop to the Conference League, the club held a press conference on Saturday to introduce new sporting director Steven Van Ehran and discuss key issues including Roy Revivo's potential transfer to Spain. CEO Jack Englidis emphasized the club's ambition to remain Israel's top team and compete strongly in Europe, stating these goals remain unchanged despite recent setbacks.

Englidis praised Revivo as a talented player under contract and said the club respects his and his family's wishes. He confirmed that if Maccabi receives an offer deemed appropriate, they will be willing to negotiate a transfer to help Revivo fulfill his European aspirations. Englidis stressed that Maccabi is focused on winning titles rather than merely developing players to sell, but acknowledged the club has a history of selling players for the right price.

Regarding the Europa League exit, Englidis admitted it was a severe disappointment but insisted the club is learning from the experience and working behind the scenes on improvements that will soon be visible. Van Ehran, who joined about seven weeks ago, outlined his strategic plan for short-, medium-, and long-term development and expressed alignment with the club's high-performance standards.

On player acquisitions, Englidis noted the slower pace of transfers in Israel is normal and highlighted the recent signing of Astr Skuler as a positive step. Van Ehran added that while the current squad has shown quality and resilience, strengthening the team is necessary but cannot be achieved in a single transfer window. He also mentioned the addition of Dan Glazer alongside Skuler as part of ongoing squad improvements.
